FOR FAMILIES

You are allowed to need help too.

Most calls to Springboard come from a parent, a spouse, or an adult child rather than the person using. This page is for you: what to expect, what helps, and what to do next.

Support for family members

These groups exist specifically for the people around someone with an addiction, and they are free. Meetings run in Midland and across the Permian Basin.

What we will ask you

When a family member calls on someone else's behalf, the conversation covers:

· What is being used, how much, and for how long
· Whether there have been withdrawal complications or overdoses
· Whether your loved one is willing to come in
· What insurance or resources are available
· Who else in the household is affected

We cannot admit someone against their will, but we can help you prepare for the conversation that gets them here.
